Project Description

Design, bid tendering, and construction administration of both new Costco Wholesale outlets and improvements to their existing locations, primarily in the Pacific Northwest.

Accomplishments

The bulk and depth project management in combination with the overall broad exposure to the architectural standard practice complimented the more theoretical nature of my education and is an invaluable part of my professional development.

A minor renovation in Anchorage, AK, to meet accessibility code compliance grew in influence from just another project into one in which ADA consultants were consulted and constant discussions with the City of Anchorage were a necessity. The demand and sudden prominence required I become an accessibility expert.

Role

Management of multiple projects from programming through construction; preparation of drawings and documentation throughout all phases of architectural design; and coordination of the client, consultants, contractor, and jurisdiction. Tasked with code research and implementation, material research, and conceptual/technical design.
